Venice of China is what this place is called, famous for its human dugged out canal for the emperor of China. Some 200 thousand toms dick and harry died digging earth so that the emperor may have a less bumpy ride around. Now doesn't tht tell you abit about being a chinese?
so back to suzhou, after many wars, chinese love to go to war at one time and still is, many of its gardens are destroyed. However a few remained and was restored to its original glory. having said that, former glory would mean they are ancient. anything that looks rusted, chipped, dusty and downright rotting is considred ancient. so say Unesco which proclaimed these Suzhou gardens and canal as World Heritage site in 2000.
so here it is, crusing venicely Suzhou without having to dig a hole in my pocket like some poor chinese chap from ancient china.
